About power supply. At first, I was thinking of using an rc lipo at 7000mah but decided to drop that idea. It bothers me a bit that these batteries can be (even if unlikely) pretty dangerous. You need to keep an eye on them while charging and they don't have a built-in BMS. But they can deliver way more discharge current (though I probably won't need > 10A) and they're much lighter than a stack of 18650s. I spent a long time choosing and eventually stumbled upon V mount batteries which are used in professional video production. These are already assembled 18650 packs with a built-in BMS. They can output 14.45V at 14A which seems more than enough and they have quite a decent capacity.
